John and Yoko's Year of Peace

John and Yoko's Year of Peace is a 2000 documentary that chronicles the life and times of John Lennon and Yoko Ono during the year 1969. During that time, amidst war and civil unrest, the documentary focuses on how the couple were in love and out to change the world. Still newlyweds, the documentary shows footage of the couple comfortably talking about how they wish to change the world with a number of journalists standing by their bedside. Specifically, the two talk about their mission for peace and invite others to see their vision as well. Rare footage from that time also captures Lennon and Ono's wedding, Lennon's heated talks with both conservative cartoonist Al Capp and media expert Marshall McLuhan, as well as the two meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Now, nearly 20 years after Lennon's murder, director Paul McGrath interviews Ono and others to reflect on the events and impact of that magical year. MORE [EDIT]
