It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is the 1963 ensemble comedy from acclaimed director Stanley Kramer. By 1963, Kramer had a reputation for crafting outstanding dramas with a moral message. With this film, Stanley set out to craft the ultimate comedy, and to do so he recruited an expansive cast including lead actors Spencer Tracy, Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Mickey Rooney, Buddy Hackett, and Ethel Merman. Also featured are Jimmy Durante and Peter Falk, as well as cameo appearances by Jack Benny, Buster Keaton, Don Knotts, Carl Reiner, and The Three Stooges. The story follows a group of people who learn of $350,000, cash, buried in a suitcase somewhere in Santa Rosita State Park. The money sparks a gold rush, as each individual tries to find the money the fastest. Along they way, plenty of new characters are introduced. Alliances are formed and trust is broken.
