Iron Man is the movie adaptation of the classic Marvel comic book about playboy and industrialist Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who becomes an unlikely superhero. His company Stark Industries is producing new missiles for the government, and when he visits Afghanistan to demonstrate the technology, a terrorist group takes him hostage and offers him his life in exchange for him making one of the missiles for them. In his time held hostage, Stark fashions a flying suit of armor, and escapes after destroying the terrorists' weapons, though his suit is destroyed.
