Howard Zinn: You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train offers an intimate look at the noted historian, activist and author Howard Zinn. Matt Damon narrates the 2004 documentary that includes interviews and archival footage of Zinn. The title is also the title of his memoir, published in 1994. Zinn, the son of immigrant parents, served in the Army Air Force during World War II, an experience that would help to shape the antiwar stance he would later develop. Following his service, he attended New York University and Columbia University where his doctoral dissertation on Fiorello LaGuardia was nominated for the American Historical Association's prestigious Beveridge Prize.
