How Stella Got Her Groove Back is a 1998 romantic drama from director Kevin Rodney Sullivan and is based on the novel of the same name by Terry McMillan. San Francisco stockbroker Stella Payne (Angela Bassett) has a very successful career, a beautiful home and a great son, 11 year-old Quincy (Michael J. Pagan). At 40 years-old, she's still an incredible beauty, but has been single since her divorce. Stella allows her best friend, Delilah (Whoopi Goldberg), to talk her in to a much-needed vacation, and the two head to Jamaica to soak up some sun. While there, Stella meets Winston Shakespeare (Taye Diggs), a gorgeous, sexy Jamaican she finds impossible to resist. Winston is handsome, a great lover, attentive, and everything else she ever wanted in a man. Except for the fact he's twenty years her junior. Age might be just a number, but Stella struggles with their relationship, even as she falls deeper and deeper in love. With so many obstacles in the way, is there any way for Stella to make this relationship work?MORE[EDIT]
