House of Wax is a 1953 horror crime mystery directed by Andrew de Toth. The film is set in 1910 New York City. In the movie, Professor Henry Jarrod (Vincent Price) is a wax sculptor who owns a wax museum with his business partner, Matthew Burke (Roy Roberts). Jarrod is obsessed with his work, which mostly consists of historical figures including Marie Antoinette and Joan of Arc. He refuses to accept that the museum is failing to thrive and may one day cease to exist because he and Matthew will be out of money. On the other hand, Matthew does realize the business is failing and he wants out before it goes under. Jarrod will not buy Matthew out, so Matthew does what he feels is necessary to recoup his financial losses. A year and a MORE [EDIT]
