Hope and Glory is a 1987 film written and directed by John Boorman about his experiences as a child growing up in London during the Blitz. The Blitz was the nine-month period of sustained bombing of Britain by Nazi Germany just before the start of World War II. Sebastian Rice-Edwards plays Billy Rowan, a young boy who doesn’t fully grasp the significance of the bombing but understands the excitement and fear brought on by the nightly air raids. Billy’s father, Clive (played by David Hayman), leaves to fight once the war begins. With Clive gone, Billy’s mother Grace (played by Sarah miles) is left in charge of the household. The constant threat of death by bombing brings the family close together, and this film follows the Rowan’s as MORE [EDIT]
