Holiday Favorites: Vol. 1 is part one of a five-volume set. The first volume includes four short animated features to get the whole family in the Christmas spirit. The four episodes on volume one are "Star of Bethlehem," "Silent Night," "Starlight Night," and "Brightest Night." These episodes are narrated by several different people, including Anthony Jacobs. Jacobs narrates "Star of Bethlehem," the featured episode, which is a 1950s television production of the classic story. The movie gets the young and old into the holiday mood, as it plays several Christmas songs and teaches about the meaning of Christmas. The first movie in the holiday collection, Holiday Favorites: Vol. 1, brought to you by Hans Christian Anderson, uses several techniques including articulated silhouettes filmed in stop action.
