Harry and Walter Go to New York

Harry and Walter Go to New York is a 1976 comedy film, directed by Mark Rydell, about two struggling con men who attempt to pull off the biggest New York bank heist of the 19th century. The two men, Harry Dighby (James Caan) and Walter Hill (Elliott Gould), begin the film as vaudevillians who are sent to prison after law enforcement finds that Dighby has stolen from patrons. In prison, the two men are assigned as roommates with a wealthy bank robber named Adam Worth (Michael Caine) and he lets the vaudevillians in on his plan to rob Lowell Bank and Trust after his release. Worth explains that this bank is reputed to be perfectly secure and his ego is forcing him to test that theory out for himself. Being the sneaky scoundrels they are, Harry and Walter get a hold of Worth's detailed plans about the break-in, take a picture of it and then burn the originals. The two then break out of prison and comedy ensues when they attempt to make the heist, only to run into the paroled Worth who hilariously forces a copy of the plans from the men. Now, in a race against time, Harry and Walter face off against Worth to see who is capable of completing the heist first. MORE [EDIT]
