Happy Ever Afters takes a comical, heartwarming look at the ups and downs of wedding ceremonies and the romantic entanglements that sometimes show up when least expected. The 2009 comedy centers on two bridal couples, neither exactly traditional. Maura (Sally Hawkins) is marrying Wilson (Ariyon Bakare) because Wilson needs a green card and Maura, a struggling single mother, desperately needs the fee she's charging Wilson in exchange for their vows. Meanwhile, the neurotic Sophie (Jade Yourell) is remarrying her ex-husband, Freddie (Tom Riley), although Freddie has few hopes for the remarriage.
