Hank the Cave Peanut & Captain Silas is a stop-motion film about the lives of peanuts. Creator Ron McAdow puts together a fantastical landscape out of popcorn, sand, bits of pottery, astroturf, plates, etc. He then populates it with decorated peanuts. Through the magic of animation, these peanuts come to life. They are far from ordinary, however. They have personalities, families, lives, hopes and dreams. One young peanut, Hank, decides to prove himself a man and goes out to capture a wild, untamed fork, the deadliest of all creatures. Together with Captain Silas, he journeys across a great sea of popcorn in Silas's floating shoe-ship. Their adventures take them far from home, to lands that no peanut has ever explored before. This film was created, written and directed by Ron McAdow.
