Googoosh: Iran's Daughter is a 2000 documentary film, written and directed by Farhad Zamani, and starring such prominent Iranians as Googoosh, Bogdan Szumilas, and Daniel Szumilas. Googoosh was once Iran's most famous and beloved pop diva'the Iranian equivalent of the American Britney Spears or Hannah Montana'but, when after the 1979 Islamic revolution female singers were denounced as "temptresses" and forbidden to release records or perform publicly in the presence of men, Googoosh's beautiful voice was silenced.
