Gone is a contemporary psychological thriller set in the lonely and often desolate Australian Outback. The film follows Alex (Shaun Evans) and Sophie (Amelia Warner), a young British couple planning an epic backpacking trip through the deserts of Australia. The couple had planned to start their holiday in Byron where Sophie is staying. Unfortunately Alex ends up missing the bus which is how he meets the overtly friendly and seemingly benign Taylor (Scott Mechlowicz), an American also planning a trip across Australia. After a night of heavy drinking and misguided choices, Alex continues his trip to meet Sophie with Taylor in tow.
