Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts is a documentary by Academy Award nominated filmmaker Scott Hicks. This film covers a year in the career and personal life of Philip Glass, a famed Western composer, as he interacts with a number of friends, collaborators, and colleagues. This impressive list of friends include legendary film directors Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Errol Morris, as well as painter Chuck Close, and musician Ravi Shankar. Filming took place over a period of 18 months and followed Glass across three continents. This film was made to commemorate Glass's 70th birthday.
