Ghost Town is a 2008 romantic comedy about a cynical hater of mankind being forced to look out for others. Manhattan dentist Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais) enters the hospital for a routine medical procedure but comes out with an unexpected side effect. He can now communicate with souls stuck in purgatory. Once the local ghosts realize they have an earthly ear, Betram finds himself stalked and chased through the city by spirits only he can see.
