Geronimo: An American Legend

Geronimo: An American Legend is a historical dramatic film directed by Walter Hill, which chronicles the ultimate capture of Geronimo (Wes Studi), a notorious Native American leader who fought against the United States when the expansion threatened Apache tribal lands. Though the Apache Indians finally agreed to relocation to a reservation, a troop of Apache warriors, led by Geronimo, begin to take on the US government troops in a violent reaction to the loss of their cultural lands. In response, the government sends out a company of “Indian” fighters, including the Chief of Scouts, Al Sieber (Robert Duvall), who can match tracking skills with that of the Apache, and First Lieutenant Charles Gatewood (Jason Patric), a soft-spoken Southerner who respects the Native Americans and their lifestyles, as they’re led through the Midwest by their begrudgingly respectful Brigadier General George Crook (Gene Hackman).
