Fourth Protocol is a 1987 British Cold War-themed thriller starring Pierce Brosnan (Matador, James Bond series) and Michael Caine (Batman Begins, Bewitched). The film is based on a novel with the same title by Frederick Forsyth. John Mackenzie directs an electrifying film surrounding a wild goose chase between a British secret agent, John Preston (Michael Caine) and Russian KGB agent Major Valeri Petrofsky (Pierce Brosnan).
