First Love

First Love is a film from 1977 that was adapted from the book entitled Sentimental Education by Harold Brodkey. Elgin (William Katt) and Caroline (Susan Dey) meet in college and they are instantly attracted to each other. Both of them are caught in the whirlwind of first love and quickly find their relationship move to the next level where they become intimate with each other. First love can be sweet and tender and things seem to be going great for this couple, until Caroline meets an older man named Dave (John Heard). This new friendship threatens Elgin and Caroline's relationship as Caroline becomes unsure of her feelings. Eventually Caroline must make a decision between the two men, which will set the course for the rest of her life. As quickly as the relationship started, it seems to be falling apart and Elgin has come to understand that sometimes love does not always last forever. MORE [EDIT]
