First Kid is a children's comedy film that centers around the President's son, Luke Davenport (Robert Guillaume). At 13-years-old, Luke's behavior is out of control, which makes bodyguards not want to work for him and his father, President Paul Davenport (James Naughton). Sam Simms (Sinbad) is a bodyguard who reluctantly agrees to protect Luke, seeing it as a way to get closer to the President. At first, the two do not get along, but after spending some time together, they become attached. On the night of a school dance, Sam helps to sneak Luke out of the house so he can attend the dance.
