Fever Pitch is an unlikely love story between math teacher Ben (Jimmy Fallon) and workaholic Lindsey (Drew Barrymore). In the book adaptation by the popular Farrelly Brothers, die-hard Boston Red Sox fan Ben meets Lindsey and sparks fly. The two quickly become involved and begin dating, then comes the baseball season. Ben grew up with his now-deceased uncle Carl (Lenny Clarke) who helped raise him in the stadium. Everything he knows and owns is about the Red Sox, his "family" being the wacky group of characters that sit in the stands next to him every season.
