Fast Food Nation is the 2001 film adaptation of the book of the same name by Eric Schlosser. Directed by Richard Linklater, the film follows a series of interconnected plot lines revolving around the fast food industry. Don Anderson (Greg Kinnear) is the marketing director for the Mickey's hamburger chain who discovers that a large portion of the meat they sell contains fecal matter. When Don visits the meatpacking plant, he discovers only a pristine working environment. Suspicious of the fa'ade, Don visits rancher Rudy Martin (Kris Kristoggerson) who tells him that the plant has broken many laws and cannot possibly be fully cleaning the meat.
