Fanny Hill (Part 2)

Fanny Hill (Part 2) is the second installment of a BBC miniseries about a young woman who turns to prostitution to make ends meet. Fanny Hill (Rebecca Night) is a young woman who was introduced to sex via her time in Mrs. Brown's (Alison Steadman) house of working girls. Heartbroken from a lost love and craving stability in her life, Fanny accepts a role as the kept woman of Mr. H., (Hugo Speer) the wealthy brother of an earl. But when Fanny will not offer her heart to Mr. H., he has sex with the maid, leading to Fanny sleeping with her footman, and being dismissed from Mrs. Brown's. She then gets a job at a hat shop for Mrs. Cole, (Samantha Bond) but Fanny soon learns that it is merely a front for an upper class whorehouse, and she is right back in the same position as before. Screenwriter Andrew Davies lends his pen to this witty adaptation of the famous pornographic novel by John Cleland, that is as witty and charming as it is inappropriate. MORE [EDIT]
