Eragon - extended edition is a slightly longer cut of the 2006 adventure fantasy film that was extremely loosely based on the novel by young author Christopher Paolini. It was the first film directed by Stefen Fangmeier, a visual effects editor who had workers earlier doing visuals for such films as Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. The film is widely considered dreadful and a very poor adaptation of the original source material. The plot follows a seventeen year old farm boy named Eragon who lives in the tiny village of Carvahall in the country of Alaga'siam, a place full of dragons and other creatures.
