Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story is a 2004 sports comedy film. Peter LaFleur (Vince Vaughn) owns the Average Joe's gym and has been struggling financially as of late. His gym members are a misfit cast of characters including a scrawny high school kid Justin (Justin Long), quirky middle aged Gordon (Stephen Root), and Steve (Alan Tudyk) who thinks he is a pirate. Average Joe's financial woes are pumped up when owner of Globo-Gym, White Goodman (Ben Stiller) plans to buy Average Joe's and shut it down. In order to raise money to buy back the gym, Peter enters his team into a dodgeball tournament. Once White gets wind of this plan, he too decides to enter his gym into the tournament to stop him.
