Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood follows the life of Sidalee Walker (Sandra Bullock). She has moved away from her Louisiana home and become an award-winning playwright. During the production of her latest show, she is interviewed by Time Magazine. Sidalee tells the reporter that her horrible childhood is the foundation of many of her plays. The reporter blows up the story, talking about painful memories and years of abuse. Sidalee's mother, Vivi (Ellen Burstyn), reads the article and confronts her daughter. Their fight escalates to the point where both women decide to erase each other from their lives. It is up to Sidalee's old friends, the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, to bring her back to her home in Louisiana and figure out some way to MORE [EDIT]
