District 9 is the low budget sci-fi sensation that garnered big box office and numerous award nominations for its dazzling mounting and entertainment value. Produced by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), the film concerns bureaucrat Wikus (Sharlto Copley, The A-Team) who is put in charge of sweeping and clearing 'District 9' of the insectile extraterrestrial infestation that developed on its South African soil, when a massive alien ship crashed there years before.
