Dinner and Driving is a romantic comedy directed by Lawrence Trilling and released in 1997. In the film, Jason (Joey Slotnick) is an English teacher at a public high school and an aspiring writer. For three years he has been in a committed relationship with Laura (Paula Devicq), but with pressure mounting to pop the question, Jason feels intimidated by her success. When Laura's younger sister (Nadia Dajani) announces her engagement, the couple is pushed toward marriage by parents, siblings and friends who offer questionable and unsolicited relationship advice.
