Dinner and Driving

Dinner and Driving is a romantic comedy directed by Lawrence Trilling and released in 1997. In the film, Jason (Joey Slotnick) is an English teacher at a public high school and an aspiring writer. For three years he has been in a committed relationship with Laura (Paula Devicq), but with pressure mounting to pop the question, Jason feels intimidated by her success. When Laura's younger sister (Nadia Dajani) announces her engagement, the couple is pushed toward marriage by parents, siblings and friends who offer questionable and unsolicited relationship advice. He decides to propose to Laura, despite his apprehension, and things appear to be going well. Then Grace (Bridgitte Bako), Jason's ex-girlfriend, returns, and Jason is forced to question everything. Jason must overcome his own insecurities, choose between the two women and sort through the advice he has been given to discover what he really wants and needs before it is too late. MORE [EDIT]
