Deep Impact is an American disaster film released in 1998 by Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks, directed by Mimi Leder and produced by Stephen Spielberg. The movie features an all star cast as well, with the likes of Elijah Wood, Morgan Freeman, Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni and Jon Favreau to name a few. The movie starts on at an amateur star gazers party where Leo Biederman discovers a 7 mile wide comet on a crash course towards Earth. After a year of a government cover up, the truth is finally revealed by the investigative reporting efforts of TV anchor Jenny Lerner.
