Deadbolt, released in 1992, is an American thriller about Marty Hiller (Justine Bateman), a third-year medical student, who has everything going for her. Once her apartment is broken into, she decides to rent a room to a man, not only to help with the bills but also for added protection. Her original choice for her roommate ends up dead before being able to move in, so she decides to let Alec (Adam Baldwin), who just lost his girlfriend Katherine (Dominique Perreault) to suicide, take the room instead. Marty and Alec seem to be a good match and all goes well, for a while, until Marty's life begins to unravel.
