Cry-Baby is a teen musical parody film written and directed by John Waters and starring Johnny Depp and Amy Locane. It was released in 1990 and distributed by Universal Pictures. Set in 1954, Cry-Baby takes place in Baltimore, Maryland where the Drapes, a teen gang, spend most of their time causing trouble and upsetting the Squares, the preppy do-gooders. Wade Walker (Johnny Depp), otherwise known as Cry-Baby, leads the Drapes and is considered a King among men by all the girls around him.
