Convention Girl is a 1935 musical romantic comedy directed by Luther Reed. Cynthia Laval (Rose Hobart) is known by nearly everyone by her nickname, Babe. Babe has made a career for herself in Atlantic City, entertaining men who are in town for conventions. Though she can be charming, Babe is also no-nonsense and dreams of a more wholesome career for herself. During a washing machine convention, Babe does not expect to run into anybody exciting. However, Wade Hollister (Herbert Rawlinson), a soap tycoon, manages to sweep her off her feet with some charming compliments that set him apart from the usual ruffians Babe has to deal with.
