Common Senses

Common Senses is a character study about a released former convict and a street hustler getting to know each other after years apart. Erin (Holly Montgomery-Webb) is a kleptomaniac having just gotten out of prison. Looking to get her life back on track, she sets out in the city, and is delighted when she runs into Luis (Luis A. Perez), an old friend that is now working a s a street hustler. Clearly two people that could use positive change in their lives, they take solace in each other's companionship, but when they meet Adrian, a young boy (Adrian Oscar Rodarte) who later disappears, an unwelcome strain is put on their relationship. Searching to find young Adrian, Erin and Luis learn a great deal about life, themselves, and each other in a journey to get things back to normal. The production team of Chicago Filmmakers and Split Pillow enlist five separate filmmakers, Dennis Belogorsky, M.T. Cozzola, Mary Filice, Daniel J. Pico, and Alexander Rojas, to write and direct separate chapters of Common Senses. Fused together as part of a cohesive whole, the directors also employed only natural light, natural sound, a handheld camera, and no make up, resulting in a markedly original production. MORE [EDIT]
