City of the Living Dead

City of the Living Dead, also known as The Gates of Hell, is a 1980 zombie film directed by Lucio Fulci, an Italian master of the horror genre. The story begins when Father William Thomas (Fabrizio Jovine) commits suicide in the cemetary of a church in tiny Dunwich, New England. Mary Woodhouse (Catronia MacColl), a psychic in New York City, is disturbed by a vision of Father Thomas hanging himself. Peter Bell (Christopher George), an investigative journalist, befriends Mary, and they learn from another psychic that an ancient book prophesied that the priest's death will open the gateway to Hell. This gateway will enable the dead to rise from their graves to eat the flesh of the living, and the attack will start on All Saint's Day. Mary and Peter join Dunwich locals Gerry (Carlo de Mejo) and Sandra (Janet Agren) to try to close the gate before time runs out. MORE [EDIT]
