Chris Rock: Bigger and Blacker was performed live in July of 1999 and released by Dreamworks Studios on both DVD and Audio CD in July of 2000. The stand up comedy act was filmed at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, and is the fifth of Chris Rock's seven stand-up films and his third HBO special feature. The act, directed by Keith Truesdell and produced by Prince Paul, runs 65 minutes. Monteria Ivery served as the MC for the event, introducing guest stars like Slick Rick, who opened the show with his own comedy routine.
