Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a 1958 film adaptation of the Pulitzer-Prize winning play by Tennessee Williams. The film is about Brick Pollitt (Paul Newman) and his struggling relationship with his wife Maggie (Elizabeth Taylor). Brick is a depressed, drunken, ex-athlete that is stuck in his past wishing he was still who he was as a young man. After injuring himself in a drunken night down memory lane, he and his wife must head to his father's, Big Daddy (Burl Ives), house for a 65th birthday party. It is here that Brick's frustrations with his life come to a head when he sees his moth (Judith Anderson) and his brother Gooper (Jack Carsen) with his wife and happy children.
