Captive is a 1998 American drama directed by Roger Cardinal. The movie tells the story of the new bride Samantha Hoffman (Erika Eleniak). The happiness of the just married couple, Sam and Joel Hoffman (Stewart Brick), is interrupted by the mysterious murder of Joel. Ruined by this upsetting event, Sam attempts suicide but fails. While thinking that everything is lost and over in her life, Samantha just doesn't see that things are just about to begin. These events unfold the beginning of a nightmare for her. Due to her "unstable" mental condition and the suspicious death of her spouse, murderer of which is still unknown, puts Sam under a cloud and she ends up in a lunatic asylum.
