Bye Bye Brazil

Bye Bye Brazil is a follow-up to Carlos Diegues' 1978 film Xica da Silva. It is about a small group of performers who call themselves Caravana Rolidei. They travel by an ancient truck from the Brazilian northeast to the seacoast at Belem, across the jungles on the trans-Amazonian highway to Brasilia. The group consists of a magician-mind reader, a rhumba dancer, a young man who plays the accordion, his pregnant wife, and a mute black man who drives the truck. Cico (Fabio Junior), the accordian player, falls in love with Salome (Betty Faria), the dancer who also happens to be the mistress of Lord Gypsy (Jose Wilker), the star and leader of the group. Lord Gypsy also has an affair with Cico's wife, Dasdo (Zaira Zambelli). In spite of current affairs, Dasdo and Salome remain friends. Bye Bye Brazil has a unique and diverse entertaining cast who bring to life an interesting storyline. MORE [EDIT]
