Brighton Beach Memoirs is a 1986 comedy film written by Neil Simon. The original play that the movie was adapted from is the first in a trilogy of semi-autobiographical plays by Simon; the sequels are "Biloxi Blues" and "Broadway Bound". The film focuses on a 15 year old Jewish boy named Eugene Morris Jerome (Jonathan Silverman) and is narrated by his future self. Set in 1937 Brooklyn, Eugene lives with his parents, Kate (Blythe Danner) and Jack (Bob Dishy), the older brother he idolizes, Stanley (Brian Drillinger), his Aunt Blanche (Judith Ivey), and his female teenage cousins Laurie (Stacey Glick) and Nora (Lisa Waltz).
