Bomb It is a 93 minute documentary that details the history of modern graffiti from its origins in rock painting through modern painters like Picasso and up to the 1970's hip hop scene in New York City. Directed by John Reis, Bomb It features interviews with artists including Cope 2, Kid Acne, Augo, and Chaz Bojorquez. The documentary explores in detail how "tagging" (writing names or initials on walls and subway platforms) has evolved into a major art form that has become collectible to some and urban blight to others. Adding depth to the documentary, Reis interviews art critics and art historian who inform us that graffiti has been a part of human history throughout the ages. Learn why artists from New York to Paris and Tokyo to Rio are willing to risk arrest, jail time and even death to express themselves on buildings, billboards and landmarks of every major city in the world.MORE[EDIT]
