Bob Roberts is a mockumentary film that follows the journey of a man running for the U.S. Senate. The film is shown through the eyes of a British filmmaker, Terry Manchester (Brian Murray) who is following the Roberts campaign. Bob Roberts (Tim Robbins) is a conservative folk singer who decides to run for a senate seat in Pennsylvania. Through the camera of Manchester, viewers see Roberts as he travels all over the state, singing songs whose lyrics pertain to issues that he plans to fix, including lazy people and drug dealers. Running against him is incumbent democrat, Brickley Paiste (Gore Vidal) who appears to be in the lead until a scandal arises. However, reporter Bugs Raplin (Giancarlo Esposito) does not want to see Roberts MORE [EDIT]
