Bluebeard is a horror film cult-classic directed by Edgar G. Ulmer. This 1944 film is a rendition of a famous French tale of a man who brutally murdered his wives. Bluebeard is set in the 40's and takes place in Paris. Just as the movie begins, the viewer is made aware that a killer is on the loose. A man is murdering young women and dumping their bodies in the Seine river. Everyone in Paris has fallen under complete terror. The viewer is then introduced to Modiste Lucille (Jean Parker), a beautiful, young, artist. One night she meets artist and puppeteer Gaston Morell (John Carradine) at one of his puppet shows, and the two take a liking to one another.
