Blue Thunder is a 1983 film starring Roy Scheider as Frank Murphy, a pilot with the LAPD assigned to fly Blue Thunder, the most advanced law enforcement helicopter ever made. Murphy is a man plagued by trouble. He's a veteran of the Vietnam war with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and his family life is in shambles.
