Blackout, directed by Rigoberto Castaneda, is a 2008 mysterious crime thriller about the claustrophobic nightmare that descends upon three strangers stuck in an elevator. On a holiday weekend, three strangers in an empty apartment building board an elevator and get stuck. They immediately hit the alarm button, but there is no one there to help them. The three strangers are Karl (Aidan Gillen), Claudia (Amber Tamblyn) and Tommy (Armie Hammer). Karl is a bitter, widowed father of a young daughter. He has had a hard time getting over the recent tragic death of his wife. Claudia is a quiet asthmatic student concerned about her dying grandmother.
