Benaam is a 1974 adventure movie that is directed by Narenda Bedi. The movie tells the story of a married couple, Amit Srivastav (Amitabh Bachchan) and Sheela Srivastav (Moushumi Chatterjee), and their son. One fateful night on their way to a party, they stumble upon an attempted murder of a mysterious press reporter, but fail to spot the killer. Near the place where the reporter was attacked, Amit comes across a part of a torn invitation. He decides to keep it as evidence, hoping it would lead to the unknown killer. He rescues the stabbed reporter and takes him to the hospital. Soon afterwards, Amit begins to receive strange anonymous threats.
