Battlestar Galactica is a 1978 science fiction film and the opening act of the Battlestar Galactica franchise Originally filmed as the pilot of MCA/Universal's television series, the film tells the story of the fall of the Twelve Colonies of the human race. After centuries of warfare against man's sworn enemy, the mechanical race of Cylons, a peace agreement is finally on the table.
