Battle for Terra is an animated science fiction film directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas based on a short film of the same name that centers on the world of Terra, a planet in a distant solar system that has been proven inhospitable to humans due to its lack of oxygen but is safe for the native peaceful Terrians When Earth is destroyed in a civil war amongst its colonies on Venus and Mars, the survivors set out on a spaceship called the Ark in order to land on Terra. Despite the Terrians ban of new technology, Mala (Evan Rachel Wood) develops a telescope in order to see the Ark blocking the sun.
