Astro Boy is a 2009 animated film, directed by David Bowers, that is a modern version of the classic Japanese anime series. Toby (Freddie Highmore) is a robot created by Dr. Bill Tenma (Nicolas Cage) in the image of his own son, killed when one of Tenma's robots goes out of control. But the grieving scientist quickly realizes that Toby the robot cannot replace his lost son, and he rejects him. Toby leaves, pursued by Metro City's evil President Stone (Donald Sutherland), who wants the Blue Core that powers Toby. Evading him, Toby falls off Metro City, which is a floating metropolis hovering over a vast junkyard. In the junkyard, Toby meets a motley crew of cast-off robots, lost children, and eccentric adults who rename him Astro Boy. MORE [EDIT]
