Apache Country

Apache Country is a 1952 western directed by George Archainbaud. Upon orders from the President of the United States, Gene Autry and Pat Buttram (playing themselves) go into Indian Territory to capture a gang of bandits selling guns and liquor to Indians in the area. The gang is using Indian raids to cover its illegal activities and blaming the Indians for the crimes. Gene Autry and Pat Buttram go undercover and take on the appearance of start-up cattlemen to infiltrate the gang. Carolina Cotton (playing herself) comes along for the ride, while seeking revenge against the leader of the gang, Dave Kilrain (Harry Lauter), who killed her father. As they ride their horses through Arizona, they catch up with the gang, Autry's identity is exposed, and the gunfights begin. Apache Country is similar to other Gene Autry movies with its combination of gunplay, Indian tribal dancing, and songs performed by Gene, Pat, and Carolina. MORE [EDIT]
