And Then There Were None

And Then There Were None is a film adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel of the same name, about a group of ten strangers who are summoned to a deserted island and begin disappearing one by one. An unknown figure, Mr. Owen, has sent an ominous invitation to eight separate people to the mysterious Indian Island for the weekend. When they arrive, the guests are met by two servants, bringing the total number of guests to ten. Talking amongst themselves, the guests realize that Mr. Owen is not yet there, but the servants urge them to go ahead with dinner. After eating, while the guests relax in the iving room, a loudspeaker announces without warning that each of them is responsible for a separate murder. The startled members of the party initially deny any criminal activity, but when they begin dying, the truth eventually is revealed. The party searches the premises, finding no one else there, deducing that Mr. Owen is the killer, and therefore one of the members that was summoned. As tensions rise and the numbers are whittled down, the accused group of guest frantically try to figure out the murderer before it is too late. Christie's book was also known by the title of Ten Little Indians; a key component of the mystery involves a statue from the group of "ten little indians" on the dining room table is disappearing or breaking with each subsequent murder.
