An American Journey: In Robert Frank's footsteps chronicles the events of director Philippe Seclier's journey across America. Armed with only a camcorder, Philippe attempts to find and capture scenes based on photographs in Swiss photographer Robert Frank's book "The Americans". This book of photographs was truly unique in its portrayal of American life in the early '60s. It did so in a way seldom seen in period photographs anywhere else. Seclier takes great care in researching Frank's journey, but uses his own artistic talent and photographic prowess to select the scenes, unaided by digital photo comparison technology.
